Daily Walkaround Checks for Your Compact Track Loader
Compact track loaders work hard in mud, sand and debris, and small problems can grow fast. A quick daily walkaround catches most issues before they turn into costly repairs. Here's the routine our technicians recommend.
Fluids
With the machine on level ground, check engine oil, hydraulic oil and coolant levels. Look under the machine for fresh drips or puddles.
Tracks and undercarriage
Check track tension and look for cuts, missing lugs or damaged rollers. Clear packed mud and debris from the undercarriage, since buildup adds wear and can throw off tension.
Air intake and cooling
Check the air filter indicator and clean the radiator and cooler fins if they're clogged. Overheating is one of the most common causes of lost work time.
Hydraulics and attachments
Look over hoses and couplers for leaks, rubbing or cracks. Grease the pivot points on the loader arms and attachment mounting plate as specified in your operator's manual.
Cab and safety
Test the seat belt, lights, horn and backup alarm. Make sure the door, windows and steps are clean and in good shape.
